WHAT THE WORLD EATS

I am currently reading a book called What the World Eats by Faith D’Aluisio. It’s about a guy who travels around the world to see what other people in other places eat he follows 1 family around to see how much they spend and what they boy and what they eat.
This week he’s following the browns around that live in Australia 3 adults and 4 kids. They spend $28.79 on grains or other starchy food,$ 24.55 on dairy, $117.99 on meat, fish and eggs,$ 20.54 on fruits, vegetables, and nuts, $35.44 on condiments,$ 4.59 on snacks and desserts, $4.28 prepared food, $28.28 on fast foods, $37.92 on beverages, and $64.07 on miscellaneous (cigarettes). The browns spent $376.45 in one week.
The browns is a family of 5 that live in Riverview Australia, the 3 adults all have diabetes and are all over weight. Every two weeks the family goes food shopping. Since its supper hot in Australia they mostly just sit around under the AC and watch TV with KFC, McDonalds (in Australia they call it Mackas), and sizzlers.  The browns family says that fast food isn’t a treat to them so they don’t get all excited when they go to get it.

LIVE FROM MARS

I read an article called “Live from Mars” by Jeffery Kluger. This article is about when NASA a $2.5 billion SUV-size sent rover to mars so that it can study mars. They spent plenty of years trying to master it not crash landing it, they had to master unmanned soft landing before Neil Armstrong was able to step foot on the moon in 1969. Mars curiosity rover has been a complete success, so far. Funding for mars missions is set to fall from $587 million in 2012 to $360.8 million in 2013 that has forced the U.S. to drop out of a partnership they had with the European Space Agency for two missions they had. “We can just barely afford those missions” says NASA’s john Grunsfeld.
I think it’s really cool how they have a rover on mars that tells NASA everything that happens up there & that learns about it. Instead of sending people up there all the time.

POLAR BEARS IN DANGER

I read an article called “Polar Bears in Danger” by Elizabeth Winchester. This article is giving awareness about polar bears that are in danger. The artic sea is melting away making it much harder on the polar bears to survive in the wild. The zoos are really trying hard to save them. In the artic there are few ice patches in the sea and not much land left but the polar bears need that artic water in order to survive. By 2050 20,000 polar bear will be gone by then. “If you save the polar bears, you are doing something dramatic to help the environment” says Jeffrey Bonner he’s the president of the St. Louis Zoo. There is a group of people that are dedicated to saving the bears and where they live. “The more people who see bears and understand their plight, (a dangerous situation) the better the chance we will [change our ways} in time to save them,” someone told TFK. Someone else that is very dedicated to helping the bears is Steven Amstrup he’s a scientist that helps the bears.  Zoo’s provide the cubs with safe homes to live in & experts work  to breed the bears and try to keep their population going & healthy.
I think it’s a wonderful job  that people are working hard & trying to save the polar bears because their species are really almost gone…. The zoos are trying to make homes for them & fast enough to save them but it’s going to take a little while.

Breaking Beautiful

I just started a book called Breaking Beautiful by Jennifer Shaw Wolf. It’s about a girl that’s has been in a really bad car accident with her boyfriend but sadly.  Her boyfriend died in it and she’s trying to forget it and go on with her life but it’s hard for her. So far in the book she’s been like really sad and is trying to recover from losing her boyfriend. In the beginning of the book she mentions her boyfriend his funeral.  I just started this book today so I don’t really know much about the characters. But I noticed a really important character was her twin brother. She’s really close to her twin brother he was born with a disability and he’s in a wheel chair. I don’t think that she’s all that close to her parents.
I can kind of relate to her losing someone that’s really close to you because I lost my aunt and it felt like it was the worst thing in the world. it hurts really bad you just like start to wonder why did they leave you and you wish they were still there.  So far I really like this book it’s a sad book because she mostly talks about her boyfriend and how she misses him and how she thinks she will never recover. You can tell that her parents and brother are trying to be there as much as possible.

Loves blog

I was reading loves blog post and what I noticed about her post is that he first couple of blogs were really detailed and long and she had a lot of facts in it, now her blog post are short and is lacking details. Her blog post are really good and actually makes you want to read the book but she should expand and elaborate more on her ideas and thoughts about the book. Her post that she did earlier in the year were really good!

SPOILED

I’m reading a book called Spoiled by Heather Cocks. The story is about a 16 year old girl named Molly Dix and she just discovers that her biological dad is world famous movie star. She was a little scared but she moved out to LA she fits right in to the Beverly Hills’ celebrity lifestyle.  She meets her beautiful spoiled half-sister that helps her adjust to it even.

I started the book but I didn’t finish it yet I’m really enjoying it so far. In some of her situations I can kind of relate to it so I kind of know how she feels. This book is a book that I would recommend to someone to read.

Kristy's Great Idea

I read a book called Kristy's Great Idea by Raina Telgemeire. It's about a group of 3 girls who were friends for a really long time and they neede money to hang out and do stuff. So kristy thought of a great idea to make up a baby sitting club. Then a new girl came to town named Stacey and she wanted to join and they welcomed her into there club. She had a secret that she didnt tell them until the next book.

While reading this book when I found out her secret I felt really bad for Stacey and I was also mad a her because she didn't tell her friends because they became best friends and told each other everything well not everything. With here business there was a lot of ups and downs that's what this book taught me.
